Today is 26th January and we all are celebrating Our 71st Republic Day with full joy and enthusiasm. We celebrate the anniversary of the constitution of India and yes of course the transition of India from a British Dominion to a republic on 26th January, 1950.
India was headed by King George VI after getting freedom from the British rule on 15th August 1947. Then on 26th January 1950 the constitution of India came into force. Dr Rajendra Prasad was elected as the first president of Independent India.
This day is celebrated with great pride throughout India. A Grand Parade is held in New Delhi every year. The different regiments of the Army, the Air Force and the Navy participate in the parade with all their finery and official decorations. The President of India, who is the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces, takes the salute and addresses the nation.
So let us celebrate and enjoy the day with our friends and family. Feel proud to be an Indian. Happy Republic Day. Jai Hind Jai Bharat. Always say it with a proud ( Sare jahan se acha Hindustan hamara).
